New analysis has revealed insights into the online popularity of members of the British royal family, with some unexpected findings regarding our future king and other prominent royals.

The study, conducted by Hennessey Digital, analyzed millions of Google searches, social media views, TikTok views, and Instagram hashtags for 29 of the most popular British royals worldwide. The aim was to determine which royal figure had the most significant online influence.

Surprisingly, Kate Middleton, Meghan Markle, and Prince Harry ranked higher than King Charles III in terms of online engagement. This finding comes in the wake of widespread online speculation surrounding Kate’s recent absence from public events.

However, the results were less favorable for Prince William, who trailed behind his wife, Kate, and other members of the royal family in terms of online popularity.

The analysis provides valuable insights into the public’s interest and engagement with the British monarchy in the digital age, highlighting the influence of social media and online platforms in shaping perceptions and conversations around the royal family.

The late Queen Elizabeth II stands out as the most influential royal, surpassing all others in terms of Google searches, TikTok views, and Instagram hashtags combined. With a staggering 581,000 monthly Google searches, 1.7 million Instagram hashtags, and 729,700 TikTok views under her hashtag, she emerges as the most mentioned and searched-for royal ever.

Researchers have quantified this data into an ‘influence score’ out of 40, and Queen Elizabeth II secures the highest score of 40, cementing her unparalleled influence. Kate Middleton, the Princess of Wales, follows as the world’s second most influential royal with a score of 36, while Prince Harry and Meghan Markle rank third and fourth with scores of 35 and 33, respectively.

Here are the full results for 10 major members of the Royal Family

King Charles III ranks sixth with a score of 30, behind his son Prince Harry and his late ex-wife Princess Diana. Notably, the future king, Prince William, trails behind his father with a score of 26, ranking just above his grandfather, the late Duke of Edinburgh, Prince Philip.

The recent absence of the Princess of Wales, Catherine, Duchess of Cambridge, from public engagements following a major abdominal surgery, coupled with the release of a digitally altered image by the palace, has sparked a flurry of speculation and unsubstantiated theories across various social media platforms. The situation escalated further when a video surfaced depicting the Princess and the Prince of Wales visiting a farm shop in close proximity to their residence in Windsor, prompting armchair investigators to posit unfounded claims about the use of body doubles or artificially generated footage.

However, these rumors were definitively dispelled on the 22nd of March when the Princess of Wales herself released a video statement elucidating that her absence was due to a cancer diagnosis. In this statement, she respectfully requested privacy for her family as they navigate this challenging period.
