Prince William and Princess Kate have openly discussed their fondness for enjoying takeaway meals, a common practice among many families in the country. Princess Eugenie has also previously mentioned indulging in food deliveries.

The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge have acknowledged ordering takeaways in the past, with reports suggesting they have a particular preference for Indian and Chinese cuisine. Interestingly, they possess a unique privilege when it comes to takeaway deliveries, one that some other members of the Royal Family may not enjoy.

Unlike their relatives who are believed to have to collect their food orders from the Palace gates, Prince William and Princess Kate have the convenience of having their takeaway meals delivered directly to their doorstep. In a 2017 interview with BBC Radio 1’s Scott Mills, the couple confirmed that they are “absolutely” permitted to order takeaways, hinting that their royal status does not hinder their ability to indulge in such treats.

During the interview, the Duchess of Cambridge revealed her preference for curry dishes, while the Duke of Cambridge admitted his aversion to spicy fare. The latter also disclosed that their meals are delivered to them. In a separate appearance on BBC Radio 5 Live’s ‘That Peter Crouch Podcast,’ the Duke of Cambridge elaborated on his culinary preferences, acknowledging that while he is not a fan of spicy food, he occasionally indulges in a chicken masala, as he is “not a vindaloo man.”

As reported by the Express, in a discussion on the Table Manners podcast, Princess Eugenie shared insights into her takeaway habits. She admitted to ordering a curry the previous night, stating, “So last night we got a curry, which I never do,” and adding, “I never eat them! [My husband Jack Brooksbank] and I were literally sitting for an hour on Deliveroo, like what on Earth does this mean?”

The Duke of Cambridge’s cousin, who has two children with her husband, opened up about the practicalities of ordering food to the Palace. Princess Eugenie disclosed that they personally collect their orders, stating, “We ring down and say, ‘there’s a Deliveroo coming’, and then we’ll get in our pyjamas and drive down and go pick it up.”

Notwithstanding the potential inconvenience, Princess Eugenie elucidated that ambulating in her sleepwear was not her preferred course of action. When queried regarding the rationale behind their reluctance to avail themselves of door-to-door delivery services, she articulated that such an amenity is not extended to her and her familial unit.

The Royal Family’s predilection for procuring sustenance from external culinary establishments does not culminate with Princess Eugenie. It is widely reported that Queen Camilla harbors a particular fondness for the traditional British fare of fish and chips. Furthermore, a former member of the Royal household staff once intimated that the late Princess Diana would, on occasion, indulge her young sons, Prince William and Prince Harry, with fare from the renowned McDonald’s establishment.
