Prince William ‘adamant’ over Harry decision – and ‘won’t change his mind’

Prince William remains resolute in his decision not to allow his younger brother, Prince Harry, back into the royal fold, according to a royal expert. Speaking to GBNews America, former BBC royal correspondent Michael Cole emphasized that Prince William is “adamant” about his stance regarding Harry’s potential return to the royal family. Cole highlighted the deep rift between the brothers, suggesting that any hopes for reconciliation appear slim. He asserted that there would be no “softening” from William’s side in response to Harry’s actions, which he described as “unthinkable.”

Cole explained that Prince William’s unwavering stance is influenced by what he perceives as Harry’s serious transgressions against both the royal family and the institution itself. He likened Harry’s behavior to something beyond the bounds of what could be forgiven easily, highlighting a deep personal and institutional offense taken by William. According to Cole, insults or criticisms are one thing most men can tolerate, but attacking a loved one, particularly a spouse, is quite another. He pointed to the apparent disdain Harry and Meghan Markle have shown towards Princess Kate, including during her public battle with cancer, as a significant source of tension. The Sussexes’ response to Kate’s illness, perceived by some as lukewarm, did little to mend the strained relationship.

The last public appearance involving both Harry and William, along with their wives Meghan and Kate, was during Queen Elizabeth’s funeral, where they were seen together greeting mourners outside Windsor Castle. However, since stepping back from their royal duties, Harry and Meghan have openly expressed their grievances with the royal family, particularly targeting William and Kate. This was notably evident in a Netflix documentary released last year, where Harry partially blamed William and Kate for his decision to wear a controversial Nazi costume in 2005, calling it “one of the biggest mistakes of my life.”

In addition to this, Prince Harry’s memoir “Spare” further strained relations by divulging private details of conflicts between Meghan and Kate. Harry recounted incidents such as Meghan borrowing Kate’s lip gloss, which reportedly caused discomfort, and a disagreement following Meghan’s comment about Kate having “baby brain” after the birth of Prince Louis. These personal revelations have only deepened the divide between the two couples.

Michael Cole further noted that as the future King, William has demonstrated a “strong command” over royal matters and a firm approach to handling them. He described William as someone who is not afraid to express his likes and dislikes candidly, indicating his willingness to maintain a firm stance on family matters and not shy away from making tough decisions. Cole’s comments suggest that William’s approach to royal leadership is one of firmness and clarity, particularly when it comes to upholding the integrity of the royal institution.

The ongoing tension between the brothers has fueled public interest and speculation about the future of their relationship. Despite rumors and reports suggesting attempts by Harry to reach out to William and even King Charles for a “secret meeting” to discuss “the state of things,” it appears that any reconciliation is far from being realized. The deep-rooted issues and public airing of grievances seem to have created a chasm that will be challenging to bridge.

As things stand, Prince William’s “adamant” stance suggests a hardened position that is unlikely to change in the near future. With both brothers standing firm in their respective corners, the prospect of a familial reunion remains uncertain. The royal family continues to navigate these turbulent waters, balancing public perception with private grievances as they move forward in a new era under King Charles’ reign.
