Anne Allan, Princess Diana’s former dance teacher and confidant, has shared intimate details about Diana’s troubled marriage to then-Prince Charles in her new memoir, “Dancing With Diana.” Over nine years of regular dance classes, Diana confided in Allan about her feelings of inadequacy and her husband’s alleged affair with Camilla Parker Bowles.

According to Allan, Diana tearfully admitted, “I just can’t seem to do anything right when it comes to my husband. I do love him so much and want him to be proud of me, but I don’t think he feels the same way.” Diana expressed confusion about why she wasn’t “enough” for Charles and suspected he preferred an older woman.

As truths about Charles and Camilla’s relationship came to light, Diana grew increasingly distressed. She questioned whether she was expected to turn a blind eye to her husband’s mistress, as other Princesses of Wales had done before her. Diana confessed, “Why does he not love me? I really don’t understand. I have tried everything, tried to conform to his wishes even though I don’t always agree. There’s no affection between us, and I am always on my own. I just want to be loved.”

Despite the immense pain caused by Charles’ alleged infidelity, Diana was determined to keep her family “together” for the sake of her sons, Prince William and Prince Harry. However, the couple ultimately separated in 1992 and divorced four years later. Tragically, Diana passed away just one year after the divorce was finalized.

Allan’s memoir offers a deeply personal insight into the royal’s tumultuous relationship with Charles and the emotional toll it took on her. Diana’s vulnerability and desire for love and acceptance are poignantly captured in the anecdotes shared by her former dance teacher and confidant.

The revelations in “Dancing With Diana” shed light on a difficult period in the Princess of Wales’ life and the challenges she faced in her high-profile marriage. Diana’s story continues to resonate with the public, even decades after her untimely death, as a testament to her enduring legacy and the impact she had on the world.
