Kate Middleton baby number four: Everything the ‘broody’ Princess of Wales has ever said

The Prince and Princess of Wales, William and Kate, are proud parents to three children: Prince George (10), Princess Charlotte (8), and Prince Louis (5). However, Kate has expressed interest in potentially having a fourth child in recent years.

In February 2022, during a visit to Copenhagen’s Children’s Museum, the 41-year-old Princess admitted to feeling “broody” while interacting with parents and their babies. She jokingly mentioned that her husband, William, worries about her working with infants under one year old because she often returns home desiring “another one.”

Additionally, in May 2022, while visiting a school in Glasgow, Kate cooed over a crawling baby, prompting William to playfully remark, “Can you get my wife out of here before she gets broody?”

As part of her royal duties and focus on early childhood development, Kate frequently interacts with babies and children during her engagements. This exposure to young children may contribute to her broody feelings and desire for another child.

The Duchess of Cambridge, Kate Middleton, has been actively involved in promoting early childhood development initiatives. In June 2021, she launched the Royal Foundation Centre for Early Childhood, and earlier this year, in January, she unveiled a new awareness campaign called “Shaping Us.” This campaign highlights the critical importance of the first five years of a child’s life and its long-term impact on their future.

Despite Kate’s dedication to this cause, her husband, Prince William, has seemingly ruled out the possibility of having a fourth child. During a visit to Lancashire last year, when Kate was holding a three-and-a-half-month-old baby girl, William playfully quipped, “Don’t give her any ideas,” implying that they should not consider expanding their family further. He jokingly added, “You can’t take her with you,” as Kate cooed at the baby, eliciting laughter from those present.

This anecdote provides an insightful glimpse into the royal couple’s dynamic, showcasing Kate’s nurturing nature and William’s lighthearted approach to addressing the topic of additional children.

Kate Middleton, the Princess of Wales, has openly expressed her desire for more children on several occasions. In February 2019, during a tour of Northern Ireland, she admitted to feeling broody after meeting a five-month-old baby named James. When the baby’s father jokingly asked about a potential fourth child, Kate laughingly acknowledged that Prince William might be apprehensive about the idea.

The royal couple already has three children: Prince George, born in July 2013, Princess Charlotte, born in April 2015, and Prince Louis, born in April 2018. All three were born at the Lindo Wing of St Mary’s Hospital in Paddington, London. Kate’s candid remarks suggest that she may be open to expanding their family further, although Prince William’s stance on the matter remains uncertain.
